Off the Hook :: 2 more blankets

by

I’m just a little behind in my blogging – I realised I still had 2 more custom order blankets to share that made up the 5 in total! They are all now safely at their final destination, along with some other crochet goodies – Seahorse Boutique in Victoria.

Both of the these blankets were crocheted by my lovely and helpful Mum! She needed some holiday projects while were camping together in July and so she completed the ‘body’ of these for me. I added the borders once we were home.

Blanket number 4 was a very pretty v-stitch – crocheted using Bendigo Woollen Mills Luxury 8ply in Cerise, Ghost, Lavender, Baby Blossom and Cream. A perfect girly combination!

I added a wide lacy border to bring the blanket up to size. The border did end up slightly ruffled which was not intended to begin with, but I think it suited the girly-ness of the blanket so I ran with it in the end, making the corners extra ruffled!

Blanket number 5 was a ripple – the most colourful blanket of the bunch, crocheted using Stylecraft Special DK in Clematis (the main pink), Fondant, Soft Peach, Cloud Blue, Lavender, Spring Green, Magenta, Lemon & White.

A simple scalloped border finished this one off nicely!

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you’ll have noticed another blanket hot off the hook – more details on that one soon :-)

I have just discovered your blog! I absolutely love your blankets! (I’m addicted to making baby blankets). I was admiring yours when I realised that you are also from Australia which is brilliant because I’m from Darwin, and I love that you use yarn from BWM and other places I can relate to :) (I’m currently making Attic24’s ripple blanket with BWM’s Stellar!) Anyway, thanks for the great blog, I’m excited about all this new reading/viewing material!
