granny square monday

Over the past few Mondays on Instagram I’ve been sharing Granny Squares under the hashtag #grannysquaremonday. Usually they’ve co-incided with whatever project I’ve been working on, and a lot of my Simply Crochet App granny squares have also featured.

Here are my Granny Square Monday photos so far:

I’ve invited other Instagram users to play along and share their granny square pics too, and I was quite excited when one of my favourite crochet bloggers/instagramers Maaike from Crejjtion joined in a few times too!

Today I went back to the archives and shared my favourite granny square pattern ‘Willow’ from 200 Crochet Blocks by Jan Eaton. A must-have book for any crocheters bookshelf :-)

I’ll be back in a few days to share what I’ve been busy making lately which will explain the recent quietness on the blog!

Lovely pictures, I haven’t tried the granny square yet, I’m a little bit daunted, however, it is on my to do list. Your project sounds intriguing. T x

The traditional granny is a great starter project! From there you can learn new stitches and patterns :-)

Your grannies are rapidly multiplying and the colour scheme is lovely. Yes I agree that book is a must!

They’re fun little in between projects Jenny especially when I have other bigger projects on the go. It’s a great book isn’t it! I’d love to work through it cover to cover one day :-)

Ohhh, I love this. So pretty and bhigrt. One of my favorites. I had made one with blues and yellows, I think I need to make one with all the colors like this. Great for keeping warm too. Have a great weekend.

What is that pattern on the left and the right of that center square in the photo?

Hi Tiffany, that is the ‘Wisteria’ square – also from the book 200 Crochet Blocks by Jan Eaton
