I’ve been attempting to catch up on some snail mail / pen pal replies lately, now that the market craziness is over for a bit.
First up, I owed a letter to my ‘creative pen pal swap‘ partner, and I was excited to try out a ‘new’ (new to me!) idea that I’d come across on the web – pocket letters.
A pocket letter is based around the idea of using a pocket sleeve page that is commonly used for scrapbooking/project life albums. I actually had a packet of these refills in the cupboard, along with some existing insert cards that I use for other snail mail so I could make a start straight away.
It was a lot of fun filling the pockets with coordinating papers and of course, a few goodies!!
It turns out there is a whole blog and Instagram account dedicated to Pocket Letters which you can find here and here. So much lovely inspiration!
When I posted a picture of my pocket letter on Instagram, a lovely lady offered to send me a pocket letter – and it arrived this past Monday. I was blown away by the letter and the effort that was put into it’s creation – each and every pocket contained a little surprise! It was so much fun to open.
You can see many more of Monique’s pocket letter creations on her Instagram account here.
Now I can’t wait to do up a few more!
